MicroCal RoHS Compliance Statement
The European Union Directive 2002/95/EC on the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) in electrical and electronic equipment aims to restrict the use of certain hazardous substance in order to contribute to the protection of human health and the support of environmentally sound recovery and disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment. Article 2, Clause 1 of the RoHS Directive refers to Annex 1A of the (WEEE) Directive No. 2002/96/EC to identify the product categories that must comply with substance restriction. MicroCal produces electronic products that are classified under category 9, Monitoring and control instruments, as laboratory equipment. Electrical and electronic equipment falling under category 9 are currently excluded from the requirements of the RoHS Directive.
MicroCal understands the importance of our environmental responsibilities. It is understood that change of product technology requires the existence of an alternative technology and a full understanding of the impact of the change to the product reliability, functionality and life cycle along with any environmental and health concerns. Of the substances affected by the RoHS Directive, MicroCal has identified only the use of small amounts of lead contained in some electronic components and solders. As the technology becomes available, MicroCal is replacing the use of lead without compromising our products.
